Financial Help
Owning a pet is a big
responsibility. Part of that responsibility is
keeping the pet from breeding indiscriminately.
Pet overpopulation is a problem in the US verified
by the fact that the Humane Societies euthanize
millions of animals every year.
But when you're struggling to
make ends meet, how do you afford to get your pet
spayed or neutered, even at a low-cost clinic?
Fortunately there are programs that can help cut the
costs of the surgery and make it even more
affordable.
P.A.L.
- Prevent A Litter
P.A.L. provides financial
assistance for spay/neuter to those who can prove
need. As much as the entire cost of the
procedure can be covered or it can be combined with
a PUP grant. For more information about how to
apply to the P.A.L. program please contact the
Spay/Neuter Clinic before you schedule an
appointment. Funding is dependent on monies
available in the P.A.L. fund.
Funds for P.A.L.
are provided by donations from people like you!
Which means that making a donation to P.A.L. would be a
great way to help with the pet overpopulation
problem. Donations of any size are helpful!
A donation of $25 can significantly cut the cost of
a cat neuter. $50 can pay for a cat spay!
And $100 can make a difference to a couple dog
owners! PUP - Prevent Unwanted Pets
Prevent Unwanted Pets, Inc. is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to encouraging responsible care of companion animals. Our primary focus is promoting the importance and benefits of spaying and neutering pets. We provide spay/neuter information to the community and spay/neuter subsidies to people who demonstrate financial need. PUP is a uniquely effective and humane organization because we work to prevent the tragic pet overpopulation problem and its consequences.
There is an application form that needs to be filled
out to apply for PUP. You can download the
application here, then fill it out and send it to
PUP. If they accept your application you will
receive a certificate that can then be turned in at
the Spay/Neuter Clinic. Please complete the
application process before your appointment.

Larimer Humane and Fort Collins Spay/Neuter
Joining Forces to Fight Pet Overpopulation!
Previously, when someone surrendered a litter of
kittens or puppies to Larimer Humane there was no
incentive to get the mother animal spayed.
That is changing now, and Larimer Humane is offering
to provide a Spay Voucher to anyone who turns in a
litter of unwanted pets.
This voucher is to be used for the mother animal of surrendered kittens/puppies. Any additional vaccines, testing, or pain medication are to be paid in full by the owner of the animal. A rabies vaccination is required at the time of surgery, unless proof of an up-to- date rabies certificate is presented. You must call to make an appointment
before bringing the animal in, and must bring this voucher in unaltered on the day of surgery.
Funds for this program will be provided by P.A.L. - another
good reason for you to donate to P.A.L. if you can!
