Why isn't dry cat food on the list? Because
Hills - the maker of Science Diet - has accepted us
as a Hills Adoption Center and we now get all of our
dry cat food for free from them!!! They also
supply us with 5lb bags to send home with all
adopted kitties. Any dry cat food that is
donated goes to feed feral cats in the area.
Toys, Scratching posts and Kitty beds...Until
further notice any toys, scratching posts and kitty
beds must be able to stand up to being totally
submerged in bleach water or be disposable.
Toys: fuzzy leather mice take a
beating when dumped in water. Cloth toys or
plastic toys are the best.
Scratchers: We have had to dispose
of all of our cat trees because they cannot be
thoroughly cleaned. Because kitties still need
to scratch, we are going to cardboard scratchers
which are disposable or can go home with a kitty
when adopted. If you would like to donate a
cardboard scratcher and are not familiar with them,
take a peak at these two fun examples:
Alpine Scratcher
Big Momma's Scratchy Box
Kitty beds: Any bed which the entire
bed can be thrown in a washing machine is fine.
Beds with Styrofoam centers or padding will not be
accepted.
