Special Kittens Need A Special Home
Do you know the right person for these guys?
Meet Private Purr & Kadet Klutz! Both kittens are female and are between 3 & 4 months that came to FCCR with 4 littermates. The kittens were born outside to a feral cat, but a kind woman took them when they were very young so that they could be socialized. They have been in a foster home since they were about 4 weeks old, and are extremely social & loving. However, these 2 girls aren't quite normal kittens. Several veterinarians have examined them and believe that they have Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This condition is caused when the mother cat is exposed to Panleukopenia (feline distemper) while the kittens are in utero. The virus causes the cerebellum of the kitten's brain to form abnormally and therefore impairs their motor abilities. The biggest problem with these kittens is that if they fall over they sometimes have a hard time getting up and appear to have a small seizure. They are also quite "twitchy". Otherwise they play, run, jump, cuddle, purr and really have no idea anything is wrong with them. If you can provide a home for one or both of these special needs girls, please e-mail their foster mom, Britt, to arrange a time to meet them: britt_boehner@hotmail.com |
Thank You from Princess Fancy Pants!
